As a fanfic author that enjoys abusing her characters up one side and down the other, I no longer feel welcome here. It's sad when those being suspended would be hailed as literary or artistic geniuses for daring to handle such material if they had their works in print, but here they are forced to censor themselves for invisible rules and unclear Terms of Service that are only getting a little clarification in comments, not posts.

It was not Strikethrough that forced my hand. It was not Boldout. It was seeing the hypocrisy of what LJ/6A holds fandom to. Seeing truly damaging communities such as religious based child abuse and pro-anorexia communities being written off by the LJ/6A staff as bad advice and only aspiring to be thin, despite the fact both have killed. It was seeing a neo-Nazi style execution and hearing that yes, it has been reported and LJ/6A will NOT do anything. It was seeing someone post up pictures of an obviously underaged girl being raped, and seeing LJ/6A only say that it wasn't their responsibility. And it was seeing that despite all this, they had time to force advertisements onto paid users in the form of Pepsi vgifts, mood themes, and journal themes.

I do not feel welcome anymore. However, from everything I've seen, Squeaky at InsaneJournal has actually explained things clearly, intelligently, and has made it obvious that I am welcome. So. You can find me at dirtysaviour at InsaneJournal.
